The Propel America Admissions process

frequently asked questions

  • All Propel programs are tuition-free. Some require the use of some Pell grants if you are eligible.

  • Description Propel’s “train to earn” programs are unpaid but offer a stipend during your externship. In our “earn and learn” programs, fellows are paid from their first day on the job with the employer. Check your city’s page for more specifics.

  • Propel provides all fellows with a laptop, course materials needed, and lab supplies. Some of our programs provide scrubs. Propel also has an emergency fund should fellows experience personal challenges during their training.

  • Yes! Propel will accept additional applications for future programs if you were not selected. Applicants should make every effort to be responsive to our admissions team when they apply. We do not accept re-applications if applicants are unresponsive to admissions staff.

  • Propel students will be invited to a welcome event with their classmates and will participate in professional development prior to starting their job and/or clinical coursework. Professional development will be online.

  • Propel does not ask for or consider students’ immigration status in our application process. We recognize that not all of our employers or training partners are able to offer the same opportunities to students who do not have U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status, are DACA recipients, or have work authorization in the United States.

At this time Propel cannot sponsor work visas.  You must be authorized to work at the time of enrollment in the Propel program.
