Exciting Updates in Support of Propel CEO Chad Rountree

As part of Propel America’s efforts to expand our impact, build our supporter network, and shore up resources nationally and regionally, our Chief Executive Officer and executive team members work hard all year long to cultivate and strengthen relationships with potential new and existing partners - especially those who share our commitment to a future in which all young people have access to upward mobility. Join us in celebrating Propel and our CEO Chad Rountree  recently earning several key recognitions outlined below. We are humbled by and grateful for this support.

EdLoC: In January, Chad was selected as a 2024 recipient of Education Leaders of Color’s Boulder Fund grant program. Propel will harness this strategic gift to refine our model to best support hundreds of young adults this year in accessing upwardly mobile jobs that advance equity and build generational prosperity. In receiving this honor, Propel proudly stands with seven other organizations, including National Association for Family Child Care, Watts of Power Foundation, Latino Educators Advancing Leadership (LEAL), and others.

Pahara Institute: In February, Chad was selected by the Pahara Institute as a member of its newest cohort of Pahara Fellows, a distinctive community of 24 leaders who are transforming public education to ensure all children can lead free and fulfilling lives. This prestigious fellowship is a one-year program that identifies exceptional leaders in the educational excellence and equity movement, facilitates their dynamic growth, and strengthens their collective efforts to dramatically improve public education, especially those serving low-income children and communities. Some of the other cohort members selected represent the KIPP Foundation, IDEA Public Schools, Robin Hood Foundation, and the Tennessee State Board of Education.

ICONIQ Impact: In February, Propel was announced as one of 16 grantees of the ICONIQ Impact Education & Economic Mobility Co-Lab, a $56 million collaborative philanthropy fund working to close America’s opportunity gap. The Education & Economic Mobility Co-Lab offers three-year, unrestricted grants to organizations working to deliver more equitable career pathways for marginalized young people. Propel is grateful to have ICONIQ Impact's support, and to share this honor with other recipients, such as Opportunity@Work, Generation Hope, AVANCE, and more. New Profit: In March, Propel was one of four nonprofits, including America On Tech, The Marcy Lab School, and Digital Promise, each selected by New Profit for a four-year, unrestricted investment of $1.5 million. In its announcement, New Profit praised the recipients as “organizations led by visionary social entrepreneurs advancing opportunity in America.” We are excited to join New Profit's portfolio and grateful for their unwavering support. Together, we will continue to drive transformational change in economic mobility and education across America.

Propel is immensely proud of and grateful for these combined recognitions, and we look forward to all the impact these entities are helping us make possible in 2024 and beyond.
