Since our founding, Propel America has offered a new way for young adults to move quickly to a job that gives them a stable career while continuing their education. With individual guidance and support, tuition-free training that also earns college credit, and guaranteed interviews with employer partners ready to hire, Propel removes the barriers many young people face, and makes hard work pay off.
Beginning in 2022, Propel has decided to focus on training young adults for career pathways only in healthcare. Here’s why:
- Healthcare currently makes up almost 18% of the economy and occupations in healthcare are expected to grow by an additional 2.6M jobs by 2030, greater job growth than any other occupational group. And as our country has navigated the challenges of Covid-19, there’s an even greater appreciation and understanding of the importance of healthcare workers to society.
- Healthcare pathways will provide our thousands of future fellows with meaningful, high-demand careers they can take pride in. You can read more about one of our fellows, Jaida, who recently wrapped up her fellowship and externship at Penn Medicine here.
- And, critically, by focusing on healthcare we are now positioned to develop a model that can be systematized and scaled. Our pilot programming provided a rich opportunity for learning across multiple sectors, and our team is now incredibly excited about this transition toward simplicity, focus, and scale.
